HealthSure™ is a health care insurance plan for Canadians that expedites and covers the cost of diagnostic procedures, specialist consultations and surgical procedures.
Note: United Benefits Group was previously under the name Access Health Benefits.
According to the Fraser Institute, wait times for medical services have been excessive for years
with the average wait time to see a specialist now exceeding 6 months.
With HealthSure™ if you or a covered family member are referred by a doctor for a diagnostic
test, specialist consultation or surgical procedure and the Provincial Health Care System will
not be able to provide treatment to you within days than under your HealthSure™ coverage
every effort will be made to schedule the health care treatment you require within 21 days at a
world-class medical facility.
For a few dollars a day, the HealthSure™ will provide you with:
$1,000,000 of health care insurance coverage for yourself and each of your family members
with no deductibles or co-payments.
If you or a family member require a diagnostic test such as MRIs or CT scan every effort will
be made to schedule an appointment within three weeks. In many cases, MRIs or CT scan
has been provided within as few as 2-3 days.
If you or a family member require a specialist consultation, every effort will be made to provide
an appointment within three weeks instead of you having to wait up to 6 months or more within
our Provincial Health Care System (several individuals covered under HealthSure™ have
seen a specialist within 10 days).
Surgical procedures can be provided to you and your family members within three weeks or at
your convenience, at world-class medical facilities such as Cambie Surgery Centre in Vancouver, BC and Mayo Clinics in the United States, instead of waiting within our Provincial Health Care System for as long as 6-18 months or more.
Scheduling and coordination of medical appointments for you and your family members
are arranged by our plan administrator MSH International from their regional office in Calgary,
Alberta. MSH International also arranges for the transfer of medical records, booking of
specialists and facilities and all corresponding payments. With HealthSure™, you do not have
to pay for medical services and seek reimbursement. Any costs that you incur for covered
travel expenses including companion travel expenses will be reimbursed to you.
Coverage is available up to age 75 for all Canadians except for those in living in Quebec and
the Territories where HealthSure™ is not available.
No medical questionnaire or exam is required. Your acceptance is guaranteed regardless of
any prior health conditions.
Your HealthSure™ Plan effective date of coverage for all covered conditions begins on the first
day of the month following receipt and approval of your enrolment by our plan administrator
